FOOD & BEANS
Mexico consumes roughly 1 million metric tons of beans and 2 millions of Lentils annually, making it one of the largest bean markets in the world. While domestic production normally covers most of the demand, recurring droughts and shrinking planted areas have caused significant supply gaps, requiring imports from the United States and Canada.
Consumption & Demand Drivers
Dietary Staple: Beans are a foundational part of the traditional Mexican diet, heavily paired with corn tortillas.
RECYBOVER: We dominate the market and collect arround half a million metric tons from our own Contract farmers annually. We process and pack it for our consumers. We have a processing and packaging facilities of 200,000 Metric Tons now.
Price Elasticity: Demand for beans is highly inelastic; consumers continue to buy them even when prices rise, making beans a crucial indicator for food security
